Way back in 1984 I bought a scooter. It was a Honda Aero 80 to be specific, much like the one above. I wanted something fun to get around on and use it going back and forth to college. That summer I had a job working at Country Fresh dairy and I was pretty miserly with my money. I had a car, a 1979 Mazda GLC, but I wanted something that would pass the Mom-test and be some fun, plus cheap on gas. After all gas was around 60 cents a gallon at the time!
As time went by, I graduated from college and my grandfather took over the scooter followed by my cousin. It was returned to me about 10 years ago and there it sat. Unloved. Unrestored. Now we're moving across country and I simply don't have any time for it. I donated it to a local !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with a club where a few members will restore it.
So fare thee well my old friend.

Aw man. They are good little cars. (see what I did there) Are you going to see your scooter when they are done restoring it? Any good stories to share about it?

They have promised to send me pix when they're done with it. They actually have an Aero 80 parts bike and Honda doesn't support older scooters at all.

Thank god they have a parts bike, does the Aero 80 have any after market at all? How did you feel when you saw it get loaded up in that truck?

Right, no parts support, except the engine was apparently made by Hyundai and so some engine parts are available.
I should feel sad, but I guess the pragmatist in me is taking over. I will miss it, or at least the idea of it.
